10 Lessons I Learned From 2017

The only person who never makes a mistake is the one who never does anything. Many of us made mistakes in the past year, but what is important is to learn from the mistakes we made and trying to correct them. Here are some of the lessons I learned from my mistakes:- 1.  Understanding that tomorrow never comes. Remember all those tasks for which you said, "I'll do that tomorrow." But tomorrow never came? Those are the opportunities that you missed. Tomorrow never comes, it is always today. 2.Being courageous is better than having life long regrets. Taking risks is the only way to move ahead. How will you know if it's the right decision if you never make it? Don't always play it safe, you'll die wondering. 3.Learning is the only investment with sure shot profits. Hey! It's been a long time since I saw you. I'm not talking about the virtual world, I've seen all your social media updates. I don't remember how it all ended. But now we have went far ahead in our lives. I know you're doing great and I hope you do wonders. You might not believe me but whenever your name comes up there's a smile on my face. A blend of nostalgia, warmth and dolefulness strikes me and I start wondering how my life would've been if you were here with me, if we kept all our promises of always staying together and always keeping a check on each other. But in the battle of time and love, look time has now won. I hope you remember the trips we planned and said we would surely go for mountains, beaches, camping and where not, I still wait for them. I still have all your secrets buried inside me, don't worry they're safe. I still need help in deciding what to wear. I still remember all those cute names we used to call each other from.

FEAR

Don't be unlike the crowd, People will laugh at you. Bury your soul in a linen shroud, But don't you go after your strange hobby-horse. Call me stupid but isn't this what you tell yourself daily, No? Then what is holding you back? Do you fear that the world won't embrace you or are you too lazy? There's something deeper in you, believe me. Each one of us is unique with distinct destiny. Follow someone else's footsteps, But too high is the penalty. That penalty is you who will never come back if once gone.

Remember you said she's so demanding? Yes she is, She won't settle for less, Less of you may work. She's always confused? Because having no regrets is all that she really wants. She is brilliant, But not clever enough to know her worth. She sits there wondering, Asking herself the same questions again and again, Doing crazy stuff, And forgiving people multiple times, But no, wait, don't assume this to be her nature, She's fierce my friend, you have no clue. And here the time comes, When she takes a step back. The misery begins for you, And she's finally at peace.

Let this be the new trend Where a girl stands for another girl And shuts the guy offending the other girl; Where women run to women And not men for their rescue; Maybe you don't like her but you know she's right from within because she is a she Belonging to the same tribe as yours So it's a rule- you can't leave her when she's alone; There would always be rumours for sure, Dishonouring, offending But let they never be spread by women about another women Because we are in the same race Dealing with the same society norms; People would tell you to sit nicely , to behave, to always smile, to be shy and to look down But darling you are a canary and they are just some beings whose language you don't understand and you don't need to While they are wishing to understand yours.

Some nights I'm sleepless, But it's not always that it's because of some heart break, It's not always about some battles of past, Sometimes they are my dreams, Sometimes they are my fantasies, Which want to turn into realities without even wasting a second. Some nights I'm sleepless, But it's not always that it's because of my failures, It's not always because of worrying about my flaws, Sometimes they are my victories, Sometimes it's just an idea of a satisfied life, Which won't let me sleep before achieving them..
